Ledette has over ten years experience in both the agency and private practice setting working with children, adolescents and adults. Ledette’s main area of focus has been helping client’s heal from early life trauma. She is an adoptive mother and has focused much of her work on supporting foster and adoptive families.
Ledette holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child Studies from Antioch University. Ledette is also a Registered Play Therapist and trained in EMDR.
Children & Adolescents(3-18)
Ledette combines Child Centered Play Therapy, EMDR and Sandtray in her work with children and adolescents to identify and process early traumatic experiences. Her work is done in a playful, age appropriate and child lead way and involves parents to ensure the child is supported both in therapy and at home. Even the scariest of experiences can be processed by children and adolescents to lessen the effects of trauma as they grow. Issues Ledette typically works with include:

Ledette understands that parenting children who have experienced trauma requires a different approach in order to build safe attachments and felt safety for the child. Ledette supports parents by providing trauma informed parenting psycho education and parenting strategies.

Ledette has extensive experience working with foster and adoption related issues. She uses a trauma informed and neurodevelopmental lens in all of her work, and understands how in utero and early developmental trauma affect children in many areas of their life. As a former foster parent and now an adoptive mom, She further understands how close relationships are created through a sense of safety and trust.
