Sean Sparks is a Licensed MFT who’s career focus are the areas of adoption/foster care and kinship care. His work experience includes work in County contracted organizations building programs and delivering services to families involved with the child welfare system along the spectrum, from foster care to post-adoption. 

In addition, Sean has worked as a therapist for the Department of mental health, non-profit organizations, schools, and in private practice. Sean received his BA from Pacific Oaks College and his master’s in counseling from CSUN.

Sean is a transracial adoptee who was adopted through LA county’s foster care system. This in-part drives his passion to connect with members of the adoption and foster care community through healing. Sean has clinical experience working with children, teens, couples, and families.

Sean’s current focus and specialization is supporting racial identity development, supporting transracially adopted individuals and their families, attachment-focused parenting and non-directive play therapy. Sean is driven to support individuals heal broken attachments and the manifestations of these losses, through supportive connection. Sean believes that we are incredibly adaptive beings who have the capacity to heal ourselves and each other.
